Jos76’s Blog

Thoughts and musings on life in a gay marriage.

Who is Jos76?

I’m a 31 year-old gay man living in Massachusetts, currently the only state where gay-marriage is legal.  I have been married to my partner (Dac) for two years and we have been together for seven.  We have very supportive friends, family, and fellow parishioners in our church (United Church of Christ).  You will come to know all of them as you check back and read my posts.

I began this blog to give people around the country examples of the normalcy of gay marriage and relationships with friends and family.  Sometimes there are posts about the amusing things that happen in the life of any couple, while other post comment on issues specific to a gay marriage.  These mostly involve political commentary (where candidates stand on gay rights and equality, etc.).  The others are just Dac and I, along with our friends and family.

This blog was featured on About.Com last month.  I’m the one on the left.

It was also the subject of a post on Texas Liberal.

Good Times.

Thanks for the great posts! I am a 27 year old Single guy from Saskatchewan Canada. After having a 3.5 year relationship end last year it has been somewhat daunting to think of finding love and have hope in finding a partner who will want to settle down and create a life together. You two are an inspiration and I thank you for that.

Thanks again for your posts – Ryan

Thanks for the comment about gay marriage on my blog. I completely agree with you, our country will provide welfare to people who choose not to work, get pregnant at ridiculous ages, and people who just are sticking their hands out. I have never understood how we as a country will say poor them, but when it comes to two people being together of the same sex we are up in arms. I also don’t understand how on earth all the “Christians” judge the gay community. Isn’t Christianity all about forgiveness and accepting people for who they are and loving them. Well, at least in the Church I grew up in that’s what they preached. I know that there is hope for equality one day. Thanks once again for your comment, I really like your blog as well. Take care and have a great week.

    Hi Jos76,

I just found your blog by accident and I have to say that I LOVE IT!

I was working on my blog today, gaymarriageblog.wordpress.com, and was looking for well actually I don’t know what I was looking for lol but I found your blog!

I wanted to email you to make sure it was ok to link your blog to my blog and to see if you wouldn’t mind doing the same, but I couldn’t find a contact us page….so I figured I’d just post it here.

Please email me when you can at gaymarriageguide@gay-marriage-guide.com when you get a chance so that I can see if it’s ok to link your blog on my blog. Btw, I also have a gay marriage site which you are more than welcomed to check out and if you’d like to participate in anyway, i.e. pictures, a write up about your wedding, etc. that would be AWESOME! You and I both know that the more information that we put out there the sooner people will see just how NORMAL we really are!

    Thanks again for your blog!

    Jos76,

Thanks so much! I appreciate it! I will add your blog to my favorites section of my blog which is http://www.gaymarriageblog.wordpress.com (for now…soon it will be ourgaylives.com) Take the survey there too, if you don’t mind!

I don’t know why the email bounced back. But if you could email from the email that I listed above (where it says it will not be published) that would be awesome as I’d like to talk to you about doing an interview if you’d be interested!

If you can’t email me from the email addy that I put in there above (which is my personal email so I don’t want the whole web to know it lol) then please let me know how I can get in touch with you. Ohhhh you could always go to the gay-marriage-guide.com website and subscribe either on the subscribe link or sign up under the Protect Your Gay Marriage page (there are forms there that will get to me!) Don’t worry, I won’t keep you on the list if you don’t want to….I PROMISE! Just let me know when we email each other to take you off.

    Thanks!
